Opened in 1966, North Albany Middle School is proudly educating its second and third generations of Albany children. Located on a 26-acre campus amid rolling hills, the school serves the children from North Albany, Oak Grove, South Shore, and Sunrise elementary schools.

Staff
NAMS has 26 certified teaching staff, 3 administrators, 4 office staff, 1 Special Programs Secretary, 2 counselors, 9 educational assistants, 4 cooks, 2 custodians.
Homeroom Class
All students will be enrolled in a Homeroom class that meets four days a week. On Mondays, students work on organizational skills: using their planners effectively, setting goals, and organizing their binders. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students engage in lessons designed to foster Social and Emotional Learning through the Second Steps program. On Fridays, students participate in community-building activities with their class or have extra time to finish their assignments before the weekend.
Students Electives
Our school offers a variety of electives which may include: 7th & 8th Grade Students can choose from Beginning Choir, Concert Choir, Girls Ensemble, AVID, Leadership, Drama, STEAM, Career Exploration, Foods 1 and Foods 2, Teacher’s Aide(NAMS, NAES), Office Aide, Marine Studies, Beginning Band, Advanced Band, Intermediate Band and Jazz Band. 6th Grade students can choose from Beginning Band, Beginning Choir, Yoga, Food & Garden or Bicycle Elective. Some electives require prerequisite classes or teacher approval.
WEB Mentor Program
Eighth graders provide an organized welcome, instruction in positive character traits, and career awareness for sixth graders entering our school.
Leadership Class
Seventh and eighth graders perform school service projects, and provide recycling services and education. Leadership students organize events and fundraisers like Pennies for Patients.
Tiger Parents
North Albany Middle School Parent and Teacher Organization is a group of parents working towards the common goal of creating a better school and a better educational experience for our children. We strive to create an atmosphere where staff and administrators can do their best work – and then so can our children.
